Chair change date/procedure

Hi Julf,

I have a different take or understanding.
The formal handover is by the end of AGM as all our terms or election
timeline are around ICANN AGM i.e. last day of meeting Thursday.
However, the handover between outgoing chair and chair elect already starts
prior to that in an informal way by sharing info about ongoing activities,
explanation about procedures, adding new chair to NCSG committees mailings
etc to be an observer before their term starts. Councillors are
onboarded in different manner as they will have briefing by GNSO policy
staff and then they will have an SPS meeting in December ( used to be in
January).

The time for new councillors on public meeting on Wednesday is  there for
specific reasons: first action for a new sitting council to elect its GNSO
chair which also means later appointing vice-chairs and their next meeting
will the wrap-up meeting which covers action items from ICANN
meeting, appointing council liaisons to working groups and so on. I don't
see how that is necessarily relevant to the newly elected NCSG chair. Chair
elect will be introduced during the week in the various NCSG or GNSO
meetings  , also allowing the outgoing chair to finish his term.

so it will be just 1 or 2 days difference, unless you are meaning in some
formal way ? but for handover of activities and work it should already have
happened anyway.
