How about this:

The ICANN Statement of Interest is a part of the crucial transparency
governance mechanisms that help with healthy policymaking. ICANN
policymaking processes are public and anybody can get involved. When
involved with public policy making we need to know who is representing
whose interest to avoid capture by the few powerful actors. Asking for
confidentiality in SOI endangers the integrity of the policymaking
processes and makes it prone to capture. attorney-client privilege  should
not apply to public policy making. If clients are not willing to be
disclosed, they should not be represented.
