I would like to be included in this opportunity as I have been keenly engaging in the discourse on Internet primarily from academic and technical perspectives.  I attended NETMundial and several AfIGF. 
I'ma software engineer and PhD candidate I software engineering.  I'm the founding member of Ethiopian IGF and Internet Society Ethiopian chapter. I was a country researcher on a topic "Internet Freedom in Ethiopia ", which was sponsored by CIPESA. I am an alumnus of African First School on IG. Should I get the opportunity to represent the constituency, I believe I can utilise my broad technical and administrative skills of Internet and related topics.

As you already know, for each ICANN meeting we normally have guaranteed travel sponsorship for all our GNSO councilors and 3 slots for the leadership group of our SG that's normally filled up with an 2 EC reps + chair. 
Unfortunately one of the NCSG EC members won't be able to make it to Kuala Lumpur and I am making one travel slot available on a very short notice since I need to submit all the name replacements by the end of next week. 
Therefore, I would ask you to submit a short paragraph of interest to me by monday, August 8th, @14h00 UTC,  containing the following: - A short explanation on why the applicant would like to attend the meeting, evidence of full and verifiable engagement in Domain Name System policy deliberations, proof that the applicant has previously attended calls and contributed to PDPs, NCSG Policy Committee meetings and other relevant policy and related meetings, and explain why their physical presence is important for this meeting, mentioning specific tasks they commit to carry out on behalf of the NCSG. The tasks must be related to the NCSG and advance the NCSG’s interests at that specific ICANN meeting. - A commitment that the applicant is compromised in attending the full ICANN meeting, be at the meeting venue every day, and be present to the greatest extent possible at all NCSG meetings, constituency meetings, GNSO Council meetings, and PDP sessions for which they have expressed interest in their Motivation Statement. If the selected applicant does not appear to be present at the venue without justification, s/he will not be eligible to be allocated a travel slot in the future. The decision of such ineligibility will be made by the NCSG Leadership. 
If the applicant is to be an alternate to a GNSO Councillor, he or she should have an understanding of how the Council works and have observed their meetings beforehand. They must provide a letter of recommendation from either a) the Chair of the NCSG Policy Committee, or (b) a serving member of the Council in his or her second term. 
I know this call is really short notice but, in case you are interested in attending the meeting, make sure to submit your paragraph of interest until monday, August 8th, @14h00 UTC,
