Data Surveillance & The Future of Open Source Events

Hi all,

My center at UCLA is hosting a couple of events over the next week or so
which I just realized may be of interest to folks on this list, as they
feature some names that will be familiar to you all (Mitch Stoltz, myself,
Ron Deibert, etc.).

The first is on *The Future of Open Source*, about the various forms of
"ethical" open source licences which are floating around. The panels are

The second, on October 22, is on *Calibrating Data Privacy*, which features
panels on three controversies in the modern surveillance toolkit
(encryption backdoors, intermediary collaboration, and government hacking).
