ICANN71 Plenary Sessions

Dear NCSG,

Despite us being in the middle of our election process, I would also like
to call your attention to the upcoming ICANN meeting, ICANN71!

Both the NCUC and the NCSG leadership have been involved in helping shape
some of the plenary sessions part of next meetings agenda and we would like
to know whether there would be any volunteers willing to represent us in
the following sessions:

*1. Impact of Regulatory Developments on ICANN Policy Topics*
*This plenary session will provide an update from governmental authorities
about proposed legislation and directives and their intent. When enacted,
these regulations could fundamentally change the current landscape as it
relates to domain name registration data collection, maintenance, and
access. The update will be followed by an opportunity for discussion.*

*2. ICANN’s Multistakeholder Model within  the Internet Governance
Ecosystem*

*The Internet governance landscape is never static. It is continually
evolving, and the ICANN community must evolve with it, ensuring that its
multistakeholder model remains an effective and inclusive governance model
for an increasingly interconnected and challenging world. ICANN plays a
crucial role as part of the global technical community and as part of the
wider Internet governance ecosystem supporting the Domain Name System. This
session will explore the ability of ICANN to manage its evolution within
the Internet governance ecosystem.*
*3. Understanding Reputation Block Lists*
*The data from the Reputation Block Lists (RBLs) are used by Contracted
Parties, the Domain Abuse Activity Reporting (DAAR) system, and others in
monitoring their namespace. RBLs are an important tool to mitigate Domain
Name System (DNS) abuse. The plenary session seeks to explain how RBLs
identify suspicious behavior and dispel confusion through community
discussion.*
