Proposed modification of NCSG Strategic Review Working Group

1. I am interested in joining this group
2. We removed the word "merger". as I recollect, because quite a few
NCSG members objected to the concept of "merger". Oxford learners'
dictionary definition: the act of joining two or more organizations or
businesses into one. Obviously, this implies the death/removal/renaming
of one constituency. Other groups have reorganized without removing a
constituency, and I think it is important to retain that concept in our
approach to this issue.
3. When Milton proposed this wholesale revision of the charter, he
indicated that he knew why nobody was participating, it was long
difficult complex work requiring research and some prior knowledge, to
summarize briefly in my own words. Fine, we are not idiots, anybody who
has worked long and hard on PDPs or Council know that. However, in my
view, we still need to address the issue of why people are joining us in
the first place, and not doing anything but voting in the elections. We
need to figure out what the majority of members are actually getting out
of membership, and reading the mailing list, if they have no desire to
contribute.
Kind regards, Stephanie
