Dear Milton, This is a well presented article which covers almost all the
key areas. I will definitely circulate it widely. I think there is one area
which has not been addressed and that is the the damage to ICANN's
reputation. It is becoming known for poor governance practice. On their
part there seems to be a perception that if they say that they stick to the
mandate that is set out in the by-laws it does not matter if things look
like 'insider trading.' (I use this term very loosely). I think it would be
useful to address how the way this situation is playing out, how it would
look if it were another industry and what changes need to be made to
internal governance regulations to prevent similar occurrences in future.
In the meantime we can thank the principles for providing a beautiful case
study for students in a number of fields including business, governance and
ethics. If you do write it up as a case study for your students please do
share....
best regards
Dorothy
