Hello Everyone,
I am very happy to welcome our new organizational and individual members who were approved by the NCSG EC this month.
They were successfully added to this mailing list and so should be able to read this welcoming email, and follow the discussions.
Individuals:
Daniel Dasig, Philippines
Bukola Oronti, Nigeria
Sabrina Wilkinson, France
Sebastian Wee Kiat Hoe, Singapore

Organizations:
Internet Protection Society, Russian Federation.
I am happy as the NCSG chair, to support new and existing members in order to assist them in becoming fully involved, in order to participate in our policy discussions and contribute to the work we do. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions or would like advice on where to start. We have many experienced members and officers who are happy to help. I have put some in cc for your easy reference

There are many opportunities to learn about policy development, but a good place to start is our monthly policy call, which usually takes place during the week of the Generic Names Supporting Organization (GNSO) Council call. The full details and schedule of Council activities can be found here : https://gnso.icann.org/en/group-activities/calendar. Watch for announcements of policy and working group webinars on this list, they are targeted to help bring us all up to date with what is happening in different groups and topic areas. ICANN has started a new Webinar week prior to our public meetings, and new members might find this information to be concise and useful. Here is the link for the meeting we just held in Kobe: https://meetings.icann.org/en/kobe64-prep-week

Rafik Dammak is the chair of the NCSG Policy committee, and he shares updates on calls for public comment regularly on this list. To follow the public comments calls, go here
https://www.icann.org/public-comments#open-public. The next policy committee meeting will be announced soon; our ICANN support person Maryam Bakoshi will be sending out reminders for that meeting.

Here is some basic information you should keep somewhere:

  * https://community.icann.org/display/gnsononcomstake/Home This is our website where recent activity and upcoming meetings are posted.
  * List of working groups and members involved there https://community.icann.org/display/gnsononcomstake/Getting+Involved+in+Working+Groups

  * Recordings and transcripts of latest meetings: https://community.icann.org/display/gnsononcomstake/Meeting+Records
  * To catch up with ongoing discussion see the mailing list archive:

recommend that you set one now. A LISTSERV password is linked to your
subscribed address (the email address which received this message)
and is valid for all lists to which you are
subscribed on the LISTSERV.SYR.EDU<http://listserv.syr.edu/> server. The same password can be used
for email commands as well as for access to the web interface for the
lists to which you are subscribed.

You can also tell LISTSERV how you want it to confirm the receipt of
messages that you send to the list. To send yourself a copy of your own
messages, send a SET NCSG-DISCUSS REPRO command.

Alternatively, to have LISTSERV send you a short acknowledgement instead
of the entire message, send a SET NCSG-DISCUSS ACK NOREPRO command.
Finally, you can turn off acknowledgements completely with the SET
NCSG-DISCUSS NOACK NOREPRO command.

Following instructions from the list owner, your subscription options
have been set to "REPRO" rather than the usual LISTSERV defaults. For
more information about subscription options, send a QUERY NCSG-DISCUSS
command to LISTSERV at LISTSERV.SYR.EDU<mailto:LISTSERV at LISTSERV.SYR.EDU>.
