I agree, do we have a volunteer for that? Happy to send, and register some consternation about the lack of notice and remote participation.

cheers Stephanie

+1 on the letter, and I also volunteer for help drafting it. Also, hosting such sessions in DC with no remote participation doesnt quite seem open to listen to the communities inputs on anything.

best,
Bruna

Yes Farz, I think so too, from NCSG point of view.

Thanks Elsa.

We should write a letter to them and tell them what we think consumer protection is.

Thanks for sharing Rafik. Listening to the beginning of the recording, it doesn't seem like there were any NCSG reps, mostly registrars and registries then (as far as I could hear) there's one person from SSAC, a couple people from IPC, and GNSO chair Keith, as well as a couple from ICANN staff? I might have missed someone.

Jamie refers to a webinar in September 2017 that was community wide concerning this topic, seeking input on consumer safeguards. Their role according to the intro in the call is facilitative leading to community level discussions and potential topics for PDPs? I did not listen to the full call, only the beginning, but it would be good for those interested in such topics to delve further into the call and maybe revisit the webinar Jamie mentioned.

Best,

Elsa

Hi all,

ICANN published this post https://www.icann.org/news/announcement-2-2019-01-28-en on "Community Dialogues on Consumer Safeguards" and shared the recordings of that meeting in Washington DC.
I have personally no idea who was invited or if any NCSG member was invited to that meeting, and I was not aware of this meeting prior to the publication.

Best Regards,

Rafik
