Hi all,

ICANN just published today the public consultation on Amendment to the IANA Naming Functions Contract, Annex A.

Based in the description for the public consultation:
"The purpose of this public comment proceeding is to obtain community input on a proposed Amendment to the IANA Naming Functions Contract between ICANN and Public Technical Identifiers (PTI). If approved, the Amendment would allow the Customer Standing Committee (CSC) and PTI/ICANN to change the IANA Naming Function's Service Level Agreements (SLAs) without the need to do a contract amendment every time an SLA change is needed. Instead, the SLA change would follow an SLA Change Process that provides a process to achieve amendments to the SLAs in a timely fashion while requiring consultations with the IANA Function naming customers and broader ICANN community as appropriate."

While this seems fine , we need to review the change and evaluate the possible impact .For more background and details, you can find all the relevant material here: https://www.icann.org/public-comments/iana-naming-amend-2019-01-07-en

I created this google doc to be used during the drafting and accessible to all: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ttSeqefsXYIVyYh86Ryu5c8hnin7WTcaWeTCPN7nIJk/edit

Please let me offline if you want to volunteer to participate in drafting the NCSG comment and join a drafting team. I think those who were involved in IANA stewardship transition effort and the CSC can help here and give guidance.

You can find previous public comment submitted by NCSG here https://community.icann.org/display/gnsononcomstake/Public+Comments+-+2019 and listing those who drafted them. thanks again for those who participating in drafting of the previous comments.

Best Regards,

Rafik Dammak
