Dear NCSG members



Ahead of ICANN63 you may be contacted by Professor Jan Scholte at the
University of Gothenburg. Jan is a close follower of ICANN and advised the
CCWG-Accountability during the IANA transition process.



Jan is now leading a major study of ICANN legitimacy, funded by the Swedish
Research Council. It is a fully independent and academically professional
investigation that can tell us a lot about the present condition and
possible future development of ICANN.



A key part of this research consists of a survey interview. To get the most
precise and reliable information, Jan and his team have randomly selected a
number of participants across the board, community and staff of ICANN. A
small number of these people will come from our constituency.



Should you be one of the people to receive an invitation to take part in
the study, I hope you will consider it favourably. Your views are of
crucial importance for the success of the project. The interview takes
30-40 minutes and will be scheduled at your convenience. Responses are
completely voluntary and will be kept strictly anonymous and confidential.
