Dear all,

I wanted to hear back from you on the feasibility of suggesting either a
Cross-Community or High-Interest Session for ICANN64 around the
Registration Data Access Protocol.

I recall it was one of the discussion points from the CPH-NCSG meeting in
Barcelona, and given that (a) the Proposed gTLD-RDAP Profile
<https://www.icann.org/public-comments/proposed-rdap-profile-2018-08-31-en>
Public
Comment staff report is due december 14th and (b) the estimated timeline
for implementation foresees 30th March 2019 as the limit date for the RDAP
services to become generally available, I thought we could suggest a
session around it.

One possible approach would be recalling the process that lead us to the
final product and eventual issues (legal or policy related ones) that came
up along the way. Another thing I see possible would be to try to compare
this experience to the EPDP one (if we consider them comparable by any
chance) in order to discuss the value of the broader participation enabled
in the EPDP process against the Public Comment and implementation process
dedicated to the RDAPs.

*- But I am too much of a beginner in this subject and would like to hear
back from you, especially the EPDP folks. *

ps. I am aware that there has been a RDAPs dedicated session in Barcelona,
but I am sure we can find a way to build up from there.

Best,
--
