Hi all,
The deadline for IGF workshop proposals is officially this Sunday, but this deadline is likely to be extended by at least one week (according to a statement made by Lynn St.Amour, Chair of the IGF's Multistakeholder Advisory Group, on its mailing list). So we have a bit more time up our sleeves to refine this proposal and to get it right.
It is hoped that the venue of this year's IGF, and its dates, will be announced soon. From what I understand the Secretariat is still trying to get someone to put an offer to host the meeting in writing...
Also, you might have noticed in the final Budget published on Monday, that ICANN has allocated the NCSG (and the NCUC and NPOC) no resources to participate in this year's IGF. It is understandably hard for ICANN to budget for a meeting with no known location or dates. So this will likely have an impact on our ability to participate, absent identifying alternative means of getting representatives to Paris or Bangkok or wherever the meeting ends up being (provided it happens).
Best wishes,
Ayden Férdeline
