I agree and understand what has been going on with CROP the impact of CROP is great and with new adjustments and work - every season there is something to report that comes from ICANN to the community. How do we reach out to the key potential players, the only mechanism is through the CROP fund support.

I agree to join the two NPOC and NCUC outreach is important to effectively build the impact.

Thankfully we did notice it, mobilised support from across the community, and were able to push back against it.

However, I suspect this trick will be used again if we are not vigilant in reviewing the Budget.

CROP is one of the "Crown Jewels" of ICANN’s various capacity development programmes, and we need to do a better job at documenting its immense impact. It is only with this evidence that we can make a convincing case for its continuation in the future.

We’re on notice now. It’s being reviewed officially in FY19. So we need to be very cautious with how we use this resource in FY19.

I do think allocating it at the NCSG level, where we effectively double its impact by using it for both NCUC and NPOC outreach, would be a good move for us to make.

I am still perplexed why a core program that has transitioned from Pilot is being fought against. Probably it may cause one to presume that ICANN no longer needs CROP

The community has grown through CROP a lot and its impact can be measure.

How can we leverage on the existing situation to make sure that CROP's life support is sustained?

I sent an update to the NCSG list a few weeks back; basically CROP has been restored in the FY19 Budget - but will be reviewed in FY19 and may not return in FY20. So it isn’t dead yet, however it is most definitely on life support and the battle to save it is far from over!

Anyway, by my own experiences, I'll warmly recommanded an outreach event from the global NCSG for such an event. So that, the NPOC will be promoted too. If notre, it seem like giving more chance to the NCUC than the NPOC (which will remain, ad vitam, the younguest constituency within the ICANN ecosystem.
