Sure but I know ICANN has a number of IAPP professionals (Not that that means much anymore) in its ranks and has some close ties to other bodies such as ISACA etc.
Just important for those not familiar with the space to understand there is no body on the planet right now that can certify you for GDPR.

Totally right…no discussions on those. But a good helping bit that ensures the DPO is and understands their job and role.

Ok but lets be clear as of right now there are no accredited bodies, including IAPP and the other one which I have never heard of.

Hi,
Actually there are two intertwined bodies - IAPP - https://iapp.org/ - Here ICANN can actually discuss with them and be a party to the training and certification which i’ve done myself.
Second is I did was https://www.ibitgq.org/ - International Board for IT Governance Qualifications (IBITGQ)
On the other hand ISACA also provides some free assessment and materials :

These are quite some of those who are ahead on there time line. It may also be interesting to either ICANN have an academy that rolls these in in an MOU with these Orgs. else Let them do it and have a particular agreement with them.
If ever the CEO contacts are needed then i already know them. But am sure ICANN can find them but i can surely help as well since i am member and also on committees that can help move things fast if needed.
