Many thanks to all the presenters. Great job!
I raised a question at the ODI/ ICANN session about the need to make the
"Source Code" for the ICANN ODI platforms be *open source* so that they can
get a community to support and strengthen the process. I wasn't really
satisfied with the response I got from one of the moderators of the session.
I believe that when a platform is open source, it also reflects the nature
of transparency as portrayed by the Open Data Initiative.
Additionally, using a proprietary software comes with its running and
upgrade cost, puts some pressure on the budget, Vendor Lock-in on the
software and lack of general open standards that could be interoperable on
different platforms.

I do hope we can get some justification why ICANN will prefer a proprietary
application for an open data initiative over an open source application.
