Nomination of Stephanie Perrin as the next NCSG Chair

Hi Everyone,

First, a great big thank you to Robin for nominating me for this 
position, and to all the kind folks who have supported that nomination!  
I have been holding back on accepting until I saw the list of the EPDP 
team, because I feel that my first duty was to make sure we did not 
falter on the effort to get privacy fixed in the WHOIS.  Now that the 
team has been announced, I can say with great confidence that we have a 
terrific group there, and that while there will be lots of work, we can 
count on each other to share the load.  Thanks to everybody who came 
forward to apply for that group, and to the many who have offered to 
support in our strategic backroom and wiki presence.  This is a great 
opportunity to learn, for those who are relatively new to NCSG, and want 
to understand policy development and what we are usually up against in 
our struggles here at ICANN.

I am honoured by the nomination for NCSG Chair, and will happily accept 
it.  This is a big job; I have been watching Farzi, Tapani, Rafik and 
Robin doing this job since I arrived at ICANN 5 years ago, and I am 
impressed at the dedication that they have shown, and the improvements 
to our processes, procedures, and membership outreach.  When I say I am 
standing on the shoulders of giants I am not kidding, I would not be 
submitting my candidacy for this position if there had not been a whole 
lot of work done to make the job easier and more organized, over the 
past five or six years.   Joan and Renata have done a terrific job in 
the past year in building our relationships within the constituencies 
and in membership outreach, and I know there is a strong desire on the 
part of both constituencies and leadership to work together effectively 
for the common good. There is still a lot of work to do, and I will 
outline some of my ideas for what I think ought to be our priorities 
when I send my candidate statement, but I wanted to get this acceptance 
of the nomination out there today, and thank you all for the opportunity 
to run in this election.
