Intersessional: Meeting of Commercial Stakeholder Group and Noncommercial Stakeholder Group

Dear all,

Our two-day meeting as the Nocontracted Party House (NCPH) of GNSO is
approaching and will start on 1st February. You can find the agenda
attached. If you don't know what NCPH is, refer to this page
https://icannwiki.org/NCPH (not that much updated but it gives you a clue),
we are simply NCSG and CSG combined (been a long and beautiful partnership
:).

Our delegates to this meeting are those in leadership roles at
NCSG/NCUC/NPOC. Many of the discussions happen at the stakeholder level
(NCSG) but we will have presentations of the constituencies too and various
constituency delegates will co-chair.

NCUC has been active on Twitter in promoting the event and giving useful
information so check that out and I will try to use my not so good Twitter
skills too for NCSG but rely on NCUC for the moment if you would like to
follow up on these discussions.

Intersessional is an interesting meeting. The members of Noncontracted
Party House do not always get along. It consists of NCSG and CSG
(commercial stakeholder group) and on many issues, we have our differences,
but what can unite us is the fact that we all belong to GNSO and have to
work together to make things better at ICANN. So we work on our consensus
building skills and also try to make ICANN even more accountable to us.

The constituencies in CSG have differing views on privacy, intellectual
property and what ICANN must do in these regards. But we also have our
commonality, for example, we have similar concerns about the role of GAC
after IANA transition.

We are going to discuss various things such as rights protection
mechanisms, privacy protection and GDPR, GNSO review (as long as it relates
to the ToS of reviewers) and we will meet with some board members and have
lunch with all of the board members (if you have specific messages, then
let me know I try to relay).
