Hi all,
ICANN just published today the public comments consultation on Updated
Operating Standards for Specific Reviews. As you may know, there are
several , called specific, reviews conducted in regular basis as mandated
by bylaws in ICANN covering topics such as Whois&RDS, Accountability &
Transparency and so on. ICANN is proposing here some operating standards to
be followed by those reviews teams. Those procedures concerns different
areas like the team members selection, how the review team will operate,
how to the scope of work etc. Those reviews are important and part of
mechanisms to make improvements or propose recommendations, and so it is
critical to pay attention on the rules the teams are supposed to follow.
For more background, you can find all the relevant material and explanation
here: https://www.icann.org/public-comments/reviews-standards-2018-12-17-en
I created this google doc to be used during the drafting and accessible to
all:

Please let me offline if you want to volunteer to participate in drafting
the NCSG comment and join the team. The drafting team can include newcomers
and experienced members and share the workload. The team can consult with
former and current NCSG representatives in the different review teams to
get some insight from their experiences against the proposed operating
standards. it can be a good opportunity for those interested on procedures
and understanding how the review process is set in ICANN.
You can find previous public comment submitted by NCSG here
https://community.icann.org/display/gnsononcomstake/Public+Comments+-+2018 and
listing those who drafted them. thanks again for those who participating in
drafting of the previous comments.
Best Regards,
Rafik Dammak
