Fw: [council] Update from CCWG-IG

Dear All,


   - I read the read and enjoyed it as it succinctly expressed;
   - It is excellent to see the CCWG in existence;
   - Noteworthy are the perceived threats to ICANN where they have noted
   that there are external institutions/foras who wish to develop Policy or
   regulations on matters conflicting with certain aspects of domain names eg.
   geographical etc. This is related to some of the discussions on this list
   in relation to the draft statement on domain abuse etc noting that ICANN
   only deals with a limited scope.
   - Of note, is the High Level Political Forum that will be in New York
   next year.
   - In terms of summaries of discussions, I will find out from Dr Oliver
   Crepin - LeBlond  if they have summaries and reports stored somewhere,
   which I am sure they have.
   - For those in the NCSG that participated in the CCWG, thank you for the
   work and report on the 2017 activities and enjoyed the high level summary.
