The ICANN transition is bad because some ITU members want to set technical standards for the Internet of Things, China released a paper, and at an ITU SG meeting Russia and some African countries put forth a recommendation to define and potentially regulate "over-the-top” services.  So surely the ICANN model is broken.  Sigh…and this is a guy who gets to gut net neutrality in the US...

On event, we note LACNIC 27 meeting where the Latin American and Caribbean Internet Address Registry (LACNIC) signed a cooperation agreement with the Latin American and Caribbean Regional At-Large Organization (LACRALO) to work jointly on the programs driven by both organizations aimed at developing Internet infrastructure and services in the region. Also, we have Africa Internet Summit in Nairobi, Kenya and SEEDIG in Ohrid, Macedonia.
