I don't think Niels was asking us to engage in negative campaigning. As he acknowledged, it seems our positions have converged, so where do they differ?

I think that's a very valid question. I think most of us are sufficiently self-aware to be able to know where our positions differ from those of most of our colleagues.

As James mentioned, "there should be healthy competition amongst candidates on what skills, abilities and indeed bandwidth they bring to the table". I share that view.

The role of a GNSO Councillor is like a three-legged stool; one must have the right positions on the issues, the right character, and competence. If one of these legs is missing, it doesn't matter how strong the other two are — the entire structure could collapse.

As a voter, you have the right to know what qualifies me for this office — but you also have the right to know what may make me, or the other candidates, unsuitable.
