Well said @Wisdom. Government keep exploring ways to stiffing access to the
internet. The frustration could lead to users lost of interest. The
government new discovery either internet shutdown or internet frustration
will continue to be relevant until the discovery of internet community to
reduce the impact of government on the internet.

This week, Brazilian telecom authorities reportedly launched a public
consultation on potential updates and modernization of the country's
internet governance framework with strong opposition from Civil Society.

On securtiy, Marcus Hutchins, who found a 'kill switch' for the WannaCry
ransomeware, arrested  in Las Vegas airport last week has now been accused of
helping to create and distribute the Kronos banking Trojan

that was designed to steal funds from online bank accounts between July
2014 and July 2015.
On infrastructure, the project of deploying the first submarine
telecommunication cable in the Sourh Atlantic linking Africa to South

to be completed by the middle of 2018.
On access, Officials in the Democratic Republic of Congo have ordered
telecom companies to slowdown internet capacity for social media contents
such as images and videos.
On e-commerce, Russia's largest lender Sberbank and Internet company Yandex
signed a non-binding contract to form a joint venture to develop an
e-commerce ecosystem, the companies said in a statement Wednesday.

On censorship, China has launched an internet crackdown to stop users
bypassing the country's "Great Firewall", "a sophisticated censorship
system that blocks Facebook, Twitter and YouTube

among other sites". Also, China’s online watchdog has launched an

On data protection, The British government has published its statement of
intent regarding the country’s data protection laws wich will align with
the EU's forthcoming General Data Protection Regulation. Otherwise,
TalkTalk has been issued with another fine for failing to look after
customers’ data, 10 months after being hit with a record fine of £400,000

On Internet of Things, new survey by Cisco found that one-third of all
completed IoT projects were not considered a success
