IG & Universities

It is a great plan, well done Anriette and Divina. A word of caution, though, which I am sure you both are familiar with. Universities typically do not encourage to "take action". Studying something can be as detached from said phenomenon in real life, as not knowing about it at all. While including IG (and media literacy) in school curricula is absolutely necessary (and urgent) to contribute to create citizens equipped to participate in society, this does not necessary help this community of advocates. But it is yet another step in the right direction..

I totally agree with Ms Anriette on this. Encouraging Universities to consider IG in their curriculums will go a long way in enhancing participation and awareness among students (NexGens) as well as researchers.

As a partime lecturer in Internet Technologies, I've already found this working and of interest to students in my country.

So, +1 Anriette.

There is some really impressive research being done in Africa on ICT
use, cost, coverage, etc. and how policy and regulation interact with
all these.

Still not much on "internet governance"
