Very agreed with you on data protection topic. The issue becoming a geopolitical one and lead some cyberpolicy discussion between US, Europe, Russia, Internet geants. I really think we have to step in and bring some insights.

I would like to strongly support the addition of a High Interest Topic session on data protection at ICANN, as proposed by Stephanie. With the data commissioners in attendance in Copenhagen (a huge thank you to Peter Kimpian for making this happen), a session that looks at the importance of privacy enhancements would be invaluable.
Best wishes,

I zapped it to Peter Kimpian and Jean Jacques Sahel, as we would certainly like a high interest panel on Data protection at ICANN, since the commissioners will be attending.
cheers Stephanie

Councilors –
ICANN Meeting Staff is now accepting proposals for an expected three (3) High Interest Topic (HIT) sessions in Copenhagen. Proposals will be accepted until Friday, 23 DEC, and can be submitted using this link: https://icann.wufoo.com/forms/icann58-topic-proposal/ All topic proposals will be shared for review & discussion by the meeting planning team during its next meeting, currently scheduled for 4 JAN.
Also, Staff has provided attendance figures (below) for HITs in Hyderabad and Helsinki. This data may be informative if you are considering a related topic.
Thanks –
J.
