[urgent/important] cross-stakeholders IGF renewal letter

I had originally expressed my support of the letter. Since then I have learned that UN Mandates and extensions of mandates are appropriately submitted by member states and not by public petition. I have not researched the procedures myself but it was called to my attention by a colleague on an unrelated matter. I would want to make sure that we are in line with established procedures to ensure that our request for the extension of the mandate is considered. Does anyone know more than I do about this? I think that the principal is sound. I am now questioning the validity of the petition.
