civil society statement on govt proposal to restrict domain names containing "geographic names"

Dear Robin,

thanks for your mail - sorry for my late response, but still before on 
the last day of the deadline.

SINCE YESTERDAY I HAVE GOOD INTERNET ACCESS IN THE REMOTE COUNTRYSIDE 
AREA WHERE I LIVE SINCE EARLY 2013. A NEW SECTION OF LIFE STARTS!!!

As the person who represents the Open Institute Cambodia, I support the 
joint civil society statement on the ICANN GAC proposal to restrict 
domain names that contain geographic names.

Many years ago, when the same issue started to be discussed, I commented 
here on the many hotels named London Hotel, or Singapore Hotel, in which 
I stayed at some time - in different countries: why would they be denied 
to have a domain name which contains a geographical name?

And there are lots of names here, containing geographical elements of 
the country name, or of parts of the country.
