The ongoing EWG Process WG (EP-WG)

The EWG Process Board/GNSO Working Group (EP-WG)  is the group that is
trying to figure out what comes next with the EWG report and with the
Board requested PDP on Whois services

Some highlights:

A. There will be a full process PDP process once the Board/GNSO EWG
finishes its work.  This means a new initial report will be submitted. 
In accordance with current PDP process, this will include the draft
charter(s) for the PDP work.  There will be a public comment before the
final issues report is released.  As this is a Board requested PDP there
will be not be a council vote as to whether we do initiate the PDP, but
there will the need for the Council to approve the WG charter(s)

B. We will recommend a PDP with many subgroups instead of many smaller
PDPs in sequence (the IRTP A-D  style).  The issues in the EWG are being
organized into different threads.  Work is ongoing on determining the
threads;  dicussion can be found in Sequencing of EWG RDS Principles as
input to GNSO PDP (see below)

C. The plan is for the preliminary issues report to come out in March;
final issues report in July; then charter approval and initiation of the
PDP in September.

EWG - Expert Working Group - a extra-process WG that was established by
the board to think big thoughts on 'Registration Services'. It produced
a report that recommends an entirely new mechansims with all the policy
issues related to the Mechanism -

EP-WG - working group formed by Board of GNSO members and Board members
to figure out a process for dealing with the EWG report.
 
PDP - GNSO Policy Develop Process
IRTP - Inter Registrar Transfer Process - a example of a set of
sequential PDPs on the same theme.
