assistance for New gTLD applicants qualifying for Applicant
Support.

They are talking about a group of "Application Counselors" to
assist qualifying applicants with their path towards preparing and
submitting an application. It is a plan that contains many of the
ideas that Tomslin and I wrote up and shared in August/September

Perhaps a nice note of encouragement - thank you to Sally and
ICANN Org for excellent work: a 75 page report of how needy
applicants are helped in other types of global systems AND very
nice thinking and development of how we can apply these ideas in
our own New gTLD application setting.

We support the exploratory structure - and will offer thoughts,
changes and improvement through appropriate channels (e.g., Reema

2. Regarding the ICANN Board action on the final report of
the Cross-Community Working Group on new gTLD auction proceeds
where the board has determined that contrary to the CCWG
recommendation, a bylaw amendment is not necessary prior to
the launch of the ICANN grant program, and instead they could
implement the recommendation that ICANN grant applicants would
not be afforded these remedies through terms and conditions
