In fact, when we have a diverse leadership team it does mean that they will all lead and reach out all at the same time, but it does ensure that each stakeholder has a trusted Point of Contact in a good position to talk with. In my opinion, It will definitely balance decision-making processes. (Given that the team will comprise 10, 15 or 20 people, it still make sense.
