<p>Hi all</p>
<p>We have three slots to fill. So far we have three candidates who
are members of the PC including the PC Chair - Poncelet, Ed and
Rafik - and as far as I know they have appropriately recused
themselves from the process.</p>
<p>A call has been made to the community for further nominations -
the deadline is Thursday, 23 March, 23:59 UTC. <br>
</p>
<p>I suggest that the remainder of the PC be ready to assess the
raft of candidates on the 24th (including any potential new
candidates) and express their views on the list. If we remain
with the above three our job is straightforward. If we have
additional candidates then we may well have to vote.</p>
<p>We have deadline of the 27th to communicate the names of our
members.</p>

Thanks, Martin, but I’m a bit puzzled by your response. All NCSG
GNSO Councilors are each a representative of <u class="">all</u>
NCSG members, not of specific constituencies, and it is important
you understand this fundamental responsibility of an NCSG GNSO
Representative - to the <u class="">entire</u> SG membership if
you are to serve on the council for the SG. This is not meant to
take away from the NPOC endorsement, which I personally support,
just to be sure you as a new councilor understand the nature of
your role on the GNSO Council as a representative for all of the
NCSG.

The SSC is tasked, as requested by the
GNSO Council, to 1), where<br class="">
applicable, prepare and issue calls for
applications related to the<br class="">
selection or nomination of candidates
for ICANN structures such as<br class="">
ICANN review teams as well as structures
related to the Empowered<br class="">
Community, 2) review and evaluate all
relevant applicants/candidates,<br

3) rank candidates and make
selection/appointment recommendations
for<br class="">
review and approval by Council and 4)
communicate selections to all<br
class="">
interested parties.<br class="">

The membership structure of the SSC is
as follows:<br class="">

The SSC shall consist of a total of 9
members appointed as follows:<br

- One member appointed by each
Stakeholder Group of the Contracted
Party House;<br class="">
- One member appointed
respectively from each of the Business
Constituency, the Intellectual Property
Constituency, and the Internet Service
Providers and Connectivity Providers
Constituency;<br class="">
- Three members appointed by
the Non-Commercial Stakeholder Group;
and,<br class="">
- One member from one of the
three Nominating-Committee appointees to
the GNSO Council.<br class="">

The GNSO Council has tasked the SSC to
carry out the review and<br class="">
selection of GNSO endorsed candidates
for the Registration Directory<br
class="">
Service Review Team for Council
consideration at the latest by its 20<br
class="">
April 2017 meeting. Furthermore, the
GNSO Council has tasked the SSC<br
class="">
to develop the criteria and the process
for the selection of the GNSO<br
class="">
Representative to the Empowered
Community for GNSO Council<br class="">
consideration by its June 2017 meeting.<br
