<div dir="auto">Hi all,<div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">As you might know, GNSO Council elect every year at AGM e.g. ICANN87 in Bali, the GNSO chair. Each house, CPH and NCPH, can nominate one candidate. For this year, we got 2 candidates Vivek Goyal from CSG and  Samantha Demetriou from RySG.  As NCSG, we accepted to support nomination from NCPH of Vivek as we didn't have candidate from our side and we aim to have competitive election. We still have to decide for whom to support for the election itself.</div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">The voting will happen in Bali meeting, in first public session of the newly seated GNSO council as its first action. </div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">We are planning interviews with the candidates to interact with then and more importantly understand how they see the role of GNSO Chair, how they will manage the Council activities, work with GNSO leadership team, work with GNSO Policy staff and cooperate with other groups or consult SG/C. As NCSG we should decide for whom to support and give guidance to our councillors for whom to vote</div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">I insist to clarify that they will be GNSO chair and not just GNSO Council chair. The chair interact with other SO/AC chairs, board and ICANN staff, asked to represent and speak for GNSO as SO and even involved in matters like selection etc.</div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">Please feel free to ask any questions.</div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">Best,</div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">Rafik </div></div>
