<p>On our policy call yesterday, I asked our Councilors to consider
the New gTLD Round when considering our policy priorities for the
next year -- and to please slow down a bit in recognition that
everyone should be watching the New gTLD round closely. (We'll
have to review the rules for New gTLDs later, right?)</p>

will be an incredibly busy month for the domain industry.</p>
<p>Top level domain name applications are due on August 12.
That’s also the deadline for anyone who wants to apply to be
a backend registry provider.</p>
