I write to bring your attention to what I believe may have been an oversight or an error of some sort, which I came across while navigating the above-named course on the ICANN learn portal.

I believe tooltips on webpages, especially those associated with image elements, stem mostly from
Alternate Texts (Alt texts), which are efforts to ensure that a website complies with Accessibility Standards, to enhance access to screen readers for visually impaired users and individuals with low vision.

Other reasons that they are employed include;

Enhancing search engine reachability,

Providing context, and at other times,

To have it display when the actual image cannot display due to poor network.

Hence, they are important aspects of creating modern, accessible and inclusive websites.

In the last module of the above-named course titled, "How to keep up to date with the GNSO", under the penultimate section titled, "Newsletters and Social Media", there is an image map showing acronyms representing the 4 regions
for which ICANN publishes regional Newsletters.
These regions/acronyms are:

NA for (North America)

EMEA for (Europe, Middle East, and Africa)

LAC for (Latin America and the Caribbean)

APAC for (Asia Pacific)

I believe that the accompanying "Alt text" should also reflect the content of the image in order to properly inform users who rely on Assistive technologies such as screen readers.

However, when I pause on a part of that image, the tooltip or "Alt Text" that appears erroneously includes
Asia twice (in 2 regions) - one in the APAC region and the other in the
EMEA region, which contrary to what the image itself displays, completely removes
Africa from the picture - as one of the continents included and which should be in the
EMEA region.

This means that while users with normal vision view the image, to learn that Africa is one of the continents in the
EMEA region and one for whom ICANN publishes a regional Newsletter, users with poor vision or visually impaired users, would see something entirely different. They would erroneously learn instead that
Africa is not included in (EMEA) and not among the regions for whom
ICANN publishes Newsletters and would surprisingly, albeit erroneously as well, learn that while
Asia is in the APAC region, it is also in the EMEA region.

This is important because if we are to continue to promote accessibility and the development of modern websites and apps which must accommodate website users who rely on assistive technologies, then "Alt texts" must
correctly reflect the content/images they represent, in order to avoid misinforming or confusing a section of the user community.

Screenshots of the Image-displayed info, image showing the 4 regions and that of the "Alt Text" along with the map image are attached below.

Thank you for your attention.
Best regards.
