<div dir="ltr">Thanks for this Olga. You have highlighted very important points for the team to consider.<div><br></div><div>Having gone through the program and having been part of the selection committee, I would say that the program gets exceptional applicants. I don't know why we don't retain them, and I totally wouldn't blame them.</div><div><br></div><div>Nextgen is somewhat an enclosed program during ICANN meetings and the participants get limited interactions with the ICANN community. So one meeting is not enough for them to get integrated into ICANN policy processes. I think that's why ambassadorship in. The idea of mentors would help to get the nextgeners into some of the policy conversations months prior to ICANN meeting. Of course ICANN learn should also be included as a mandatory part of their application, just like the fellowship program.</div><div><br></div><div>Finally, if the program should take an academic approach (requiring that the applicants are enrolled in academic institutions), then the purpose of the program should be to encourage students to choose ICANN topics for their academic work. But i'm not sure how this will work out in terms of adding participation in PDP processes. I'm also worried about the program adding a pool of pure academics rather than a diverse group.</div><div><br></div></div><br><div class="gmail_quote"><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_attr">On Wed, Mar 25, 2020 at 6:23 PM Olga Kyryliuk <<a href="mailto:olga_kyryliuk@ukr.net">olga_kyryliuk@ukr.net</a>> wrote:<br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0.8ex;border-left:1px solid rgb(204,204,204);padding-left:1ex"><div><span style="display:block"><div><span style="font-size:10pt;line-height:12pt;font-family:Arial">Dear All,</span><br></div>
