<div dir="auto"><div dir="auto">Hi all,</div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">I hope you all are keeping well, especially at this crazy time the world finds itself.</div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">As the NCSG representative and also the GNSO appointed co-chair to the <span style="font-family:sans-serif">IANA Naming Function Review Team (IFRT)</span>, I wanted to give you an update of the work that the IFRT has been doing. The IFR is one of the new accountability mechanisms created as part of the IANA stewardship transition to ensure that Public Technical Identifiers (PTI) meets the needs and expectations of its naming customers.</div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto"><div dir="auto">We had a slow start but I am happy to inform you that the team has now completed the Rules of Engagement, Scope of Work and Work Plan for the review. As next steps, the team has determined an initial methodology for conducting detailed fact-finding.  An outreach plan to get input from the direct customers of the IANA Naming Function Process, as well as the broader ICANN community, is under development.</div></div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">ICANN Org, with approval from the team will be making an announcement in the coming weeks about our progress but for now, I do encourage members to visit the IFRT wiki found here [<a href="https://community.icann.org/m/mobile.action#page/117609175">https://community.icann.org/m/mobile.action#page/117609175</a>] to learn more about our work and how to become an IFR observer.</div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div data-smartmail="gmail_signature">Stay safe!<br>Tomslin<br>    </div></div>
