<p><font size="+1"><font face="Lucida Grande">As someone who is planning to run for another term as NCSG Chair, I ask myself whether it is appropriate for me to nominate or comment on other candidates. We have a great team and I enjoy working with all of you.
I have decided to throw caution to the wind and do so, because as someone very close to where the rubber hits the road as they say in North America, (i.e. involved in the day to day work) I want to share my perspectives on who us doing fabulous work for
this organization, who has been an absolute pleasure to work with and cooperate with, etc.

<p><font size="+1"><font face="Lucida Grande">First I would like to thank Tapani for nominating me for a second term, and for continuing to be available to support our work, particularly in the technical area (e.g. with the membership lists, voting procedures,
etc) where I am quite hopeless. It is much appreciated, thanks Tapani for all your help. Many thanks to all the others who have supported my nomination. I am pleased to accept.</font></font></p>
<p><font size="+1"><font face="Lucida Grande">Secondly, I would like to acknowledge the cooperation and collaboration I have enjoyed over the past 6 months with the other members of the NCSG/NCUC/NPOC leadership team, notably Joan Kerr and Bruna Santos, and
of course our tireless policy Chairman Rafik Dammak. It makes this job a whole lot more pleasurable when we all collaborate, and I am sorry to see Joan reach the end of her term limits, as it has been great working with her. Please NPOC, elect someone just
like Joan who will work hand in hand with us to reach our goals and maintain the respect of the rest of ICANN for our stakeholder group and constituencies. I totally support the nomination of Bruna for another term as NCUC chair, it has been wonderful working
with her and we have barely started with the analysis of our outreach and training initiatives, a topic dear to my heart, so it would be great if she could continue. Before leaving the leadership team nominations, may I just say that while he is not up for
re-election this term, members need to understand just how much work Rafik does, day in and day out, on Council, on the EPDP, and on our policy committee. Please continue to support him, we would fall apart without all that effort.</font></font></p>
<p><font size="+1"><font face="Lucida Grande">Turning to Council nominations, I totally support the nominations of Tatiana and Ayden for another term. They have done a great job, represent us very knowledgeably on Council, and do a ton of work behind the scenes
on the policy committee. Ayden in particular reads every document that comes by us for comment, I do not know how he does it. He puts in a massive amount of research into the material on which we comment, and without him we would be lost. I don't always
agree with him, but it would not be NCSG if we all agreed on everything....the point is that our policy is fact based and well debated. When folks like Ayden are doing the research, reading the documents and the comments of other stakeholder groups and advisory
committees, and formulating opinions, we have strong positions to put forward. I support him for another term and hope that you all will as well.</font></font></p>
<p><font size="+1"><font face="Lucida Grande">We always need a balance of new faces and experienced ones on Council, as there is a lot to master in a short time when one is elected to Council. I want to signal my strong support for the nomination of Farell
Folly, who brings much needed knowledge and experience in security and stability to our SG representation (Tatiana bringing of course her great expertise in criminal law and global cybercrime issues). Farell has worked hard for us on the Executive Committee,
has ably represented absent council members, and pitches in on short notice to help with work on comments and e.g. on selection of members for travel opportunities. It is a pleasure working with him and I want to support his nomination.</font></font></p>
<p><font size="+1"><font face="Lucida Grande">That is probably enough from me for today. I am really pleased to see this much activity on the election front during this first week...it is good to have lots of candidates coming forward to join in the work we
do. Thanks for your interest and thanks again for nominating me for a second term.<br>
