The Constituencies have clear goals and some individual users may have too, but the NCSG strategy is largely to empower its members, both as individual and as Constituencies, to achieve their goals, and the NCSG Chair should be planning strategy with them. <div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">But that said, I think there are some strategic goals that we are all in favour of, and that can be discussed. We need well organised procedures, and it is important to develop procedures for dealing with our colleagues in NCPH well before we need them. We need to understand potential problems within our SG, and develop procedures to deal with them, and that absolutely needs to be done in a spirit of consensus and trust - we need to do this right. </div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">And we need to find ways to work on policy positions that is more planned, and more efficient, and does not rely so much on a small number of advocates who are getting burnt out. We can’t do everything as NCSG, and within NCSG much of that work needs to be done by policy committee, but the Chair can be very much involved in pushing for resources, and coordinating strategy between the two Constituencies. </div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">We also need to take a firm, united line on representation. We need to resist any possible reduction (proportionally or actual) in representation of NCSG as a whole, and push for change where NCSG is still under-represented. Protect our representation in the GNSO, in CCWGs, and other more ad hoc groups, and push to correct problems with NomCom. But I think newer members know Farzaneh for a very different reason; for her desire to share her knowledge, to coach, to mentor, to help. She sought to further legitimise the constituency, first embarking on a website redesign and rebrand, then reaching out to other stakeholder groups to invite collaboration where it was appropriate.
