<span style="font-family: 'Lucida Sans Unicode','Lucida Grande',Sans-Serif; font-size: 14px"><div>I think sometimes people, including Board members, get confused about their fiduciary responsibility to the corporation. Having seen some of the "advice" ICANN Legal neuters...umm, gives them...it is no surprise. Having a special relationship with the group that appointed you is not prohibited by any fiduciary responsibility a Board member may have to the corporation. Along the lines of what Tapani has suggested - why should the NCPH appoint anyone at all - I'd be interested in what Board members think their responsibility is.</div>

Good point. Making it more specific would make it harder for them<br />

Yes. As Farzi noted, George Sadowsky brought that up in Reykjavík<br />

You may be right. It would take some care to phrase the question so it<br />
could get something new out of them. Maybe along the lines Milton<br />
suggested.<br />
