I would respectfully like to disagree with this statement.  We need new<br>
blood, and we need to run elections, not a process of acclamation.  One<br>
of the unfortunate side effects of our mutual outpouring of support for<br>
those nominated may be to discourage other candidates from running.  I<br>
would like to encourage people to run for council. Even if unsuccessful<br>
this time, there is always a next time, and it gets you better known<br>
among our electorate.  Please do not hesitate to come forward and<br>
participate.<br>
