<div>One of the reasons I wanted to volunteer for Council was the thought
that if selected I would be serving with a group of people I really like and
admire. I’m so happy David is willing to come back, and we all need to
support him, only positive thoughts for Avri and Amr, but while
understanding the reasoning, we are all the poorer that Maria and Magaly
have decided they are unable to return next year.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>What can you say about Maria other than her intelligence and grace has
blessed, I think, almost every position at ICANN except one: and she would
be such a tremendous upgrade over Fadi that I won’t even allow myself
to think of it. His contract is up in 2017. Can you say “Farrell
‘17”? Think about it! I’m very proud to share a passport
with this amazing woman.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Magaly is like wow! Her tremendous passion for and knowledge of the
issues, particularly in the areas of gender and equality, are superseded
only by her positive personality, full of energy and pure goodness. Her
commitment to her family is something I very, very deeply admire. Magaly
does have one major flaw, though: She continues to insist that Brasilian
beaches are better than California beaches! We all know that isn’t
true. Still, it’s a debate I hope to keep going for many more years,
on many more piers, with this wonderful person. :)</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Thanks so much, both of you, for your service on Council. You both are
incredible inspirations for myself and for our entire community. </div>

<div>Hi everyone,<br />
<br />
Apologies for not having chipped in already - I've been away in one of
the (small but blissful) pockets of Ireland with little or no Internet for
the past couple of weeks on a family holiday.<br />
</div>
I just want to add that I won't be seeking a nomination for a second
term on Council. A bit like Magaly, while I love it, I don't feel
I'll have the energies to devote to maximising our influence there over
the next couple of years. So it's time to make way for someone else.<br
/>
</div>
I'm thrilled to see what a great range of candidates we have, with a mix
of old and new faces any stakeholder group should envy.<br />
</div>
Thank you all very, very much for giving me the chance to be one of
NCSG's representatives on Council for the past couple of years.<br />
</div>
All the best, Maria</div>

I believe that the NCSG was never before in such good shape, or it's
getting better all the time :-), i.e. so many good candidates<br />
for other positions too: Stephanie, Dave, Edmond, etc.<br />
